Dope Pickleball Co. — Official Statement

We get this question a lot, so here it is in plain language: DOPE paddles are not USA Pickleball approved. On purpose. This page explains exactly what that means so you can buy with full information.

What approval is

USA Pickleball maintains equipment standards and an approved-paddle list for sanctioned play. If you compete in sanctioned tournaments and leagues, you need a paddle from that list — full stop. We respect the system and we'll never blur that line for you.

Why we opted out

The High Roller is a design-first paddle. Its defining feature — the trademark-pending chrome metallic edge — is ornamental, built to be seen, not to pass a certification process it was never designed for. We chose to build the best-looking paddle on the court rather than shape our design around a spec sheet.

What that means for you

  • Open play, rec nights, driveway games: play the High Roller anywhere the only rule is bring your own paddle — which is where the vast majority of pickleball happens.
  • Sanctioned tournaments: bring an approved paddle from USA Pickleball's current equipment list, and check your event's specific rules.
  • Leagues and facilities: local organizers set their own equipment policies. When in doubt, ask them.

The honest trade

Plenty of brands want you to believe their paddle does everything. We'd rather tell you exactly what ours is: the paddle that gets noticed at every open play in the country, from a brand that will always tell you the truth about its gear. That's the trade. We think it's a good one.
