Who Is Stitch? The Story Behind Dope Pickleball

Disruptively original pickleball equipment. That is the whole idea behind Dope Pickleball Co. We exist to make gear that refuses to look like everything else on the court, and to prove that the equipment you play with can be as expressive as the way you play.

This is the story of how that started, and of the person behind it.

Disruptively Original

Most pickleball gear is built to blend in. Ours is built to stand out. Every Dope product begins with a simple, stubborn belief: that disruption, done with intention, makes things better. Not louder for the sake of louder. Better. More vibrant, more considered, more personal than the category expects.

Who Is Stitch?

Stitch is the identity behind Dope Pickleball, and the identity was created on purpose. In a space crowded with influencers and personalities practically shouting "look at me," Stitch does the opposite and stays anonymous. The point is not the creator. The point is the product. By keeping a secret identity, Stitch keeps the focus exactly where it belongs: on the gear in your hand.

Disruptively Creative

Like a vigilante working from the shadows, Stitch brings change through meaningful disruption, leaving a mark on every piece of Dope equipment. Always watching. Always observing. Always studying what is already out there and asking the same question: how can I make it better?

Can a paddle edge look more vibrant? Can a fabric feel more luxurious? Can a logo look more, well, disruptive? If the answer is yes, it gets reworked until it is right.

Intentional Detail

As long as Stitch has a say, every detail on a piece of Dope equipment is intentional, down to the packaging. Detail is not decoration. It is the difference between a generic product and something that feels truly personal, made for the player who notices.

The World's First Sparkly Pickleball

It started with a happy accident. Working in a factory, Stitch watched two plastics blend together during a machine purge and became fascinated by the swirls. The immediate thought: could that effect be recreated on purpose? By 2022, the first swirl pickleball existed. The swirl ball has not dropped yet, but the experiment led to another Dope first, the world's first sparkly pickleball. The rest is history. You can see where that obsession lives now in our glitter-infused pickleballs.

Chrome Edges. Why Not?

A reflective edge was considered too distracting for sanctioned play. Stitch saw it differently: not a distraction, a signature. So the chrome edge became the defining mark of a Dope paddle, a purely ornamental detail you can spot from across the court. Today you will see chrome edges everywhere. Ours were the originals. Look for the chrome edge on the High Roller and across the chrome and metallic collection.

A Different Shade of White

Everyone loves a pearly white. The problem is that white rarely stays white. Stitch took that personally and set out to craft a white paddle that holds its brilliance instead of yellowing over time. That pristine, lasting white became the centerpiece of the Manhattan Mint collection, the cooler, quieter counterpart to the gold High Roller. Challenge accepted, challenge completed.

Four X's

Stitch's calling card is four X's stitched together. It is more than a signature. It is a symbol of a collective identity: stitching together great ideas and ambitious people, and seeing them through. When you see the XXXX, you are looking at the mark of everyone who chose to build something more original than the status quo.

The Vision

Pickleball is where it started, not where it ends. The Dope ethos is bigger than one sport: disruptively original equipment for the wider world of paddle sports, designed for players who want their gear to say something. More is coming. The throughline never changes. Make it better, make it intentional, make it dope.

In Stitch's Own Words

"You know my story now. The ball is in your court. Will you join the disruption?"

Sincerely,
XXXX.
